   “goth” clothing is basically just a dark version of DIY punk styles. its not corsets and bondage pants and all that you buy in stores although thats all that “goth” kids wear, and if you ask them if who Bauhaus is they wont know who the your talkin about

   Heh. I dont know people are being mean to her. Its shallow that people would wear these exact clothes and call themselves ‘goth’, because its not just about the style. I like these videos though, i mean, i could certainly just go down to the shops and find my own ‘gothic’ clothing, perfectly well, but i *do* like the ideas in these. Just remember though, dont strictly follow these videos of ‘how to…’ Because its not just about the style. Its the attitude, the music and the whole subculture. [=

   i agree abotu not following rules, but i pretty much take this as a “how to dress goth for those who are not ACTUALLY goth” video… it’s a quick tutorial for going to say a fancy dress thing or whatever… I consider myself to be “half-goth” these days in the way of dress, mainly coz I work in a vet clinic and end up wearing scrubs all day and night. but when i am home etc, i wear lots of black (whatever the i feel like wearing) but not ALL gothic “styles” if you get my drift…

    This is sad. A goth doesn’t have to follow some dumb ‘how to dress goth’ rules from some lady with a hottopic t-shirt on. A goth dresses how they want to. Victorian look, maybe cyber, etc. They don’t need some cheap rules like this.
    It’s not like there’s one way in dressing goth. (maybe in their next video they say: look a marilyn manson, he’s a gothic king. hahaha)
