Is it hard to learn how to make clothing, especially “gothic lolita” style clothing?
I am thinking of buying a sewing machine and learning how to make clothes.
It's hard at first but once you get into it it gets easier and easier. You just have to start out small. Here's a bunch of basic lolita items you can sew in difficulty from easiest to hardest so you can get an idea.
Simple headdress
Alice bow
Simple skirt
Skirt with some detail
Jumperskirt
Blouse
One piece
If you have someone who is fairly good at sewing help you out or take some kind of class on sewing it will help you learn a lot faster.
The hardest thing with sewing lolita clothing is finding or making a good pattern. I personally think it's much easier to make your own. With finding one, you almost always have to modify it anyways. So I don't bother.

usually yes there are a lot of terms you have to know and a lot of things you have to know how to do you also know how to follow a pattern an if not you have to design and cut out the fabric in the exact right shape and sizes.. this is a lot harder than most people think……;]

Yes, Harder then people usually think.
You have to be skilled with the sewing machine.
Especially with small Details in "Gothic Lolita" style clothing.
But theres some simple patterns and details you could use.
